Select an area where water collects, usually near a foundation. Dig a hole for the basin, making it about 6" larger than the basin, and deep enough to allow the basin top to be about 2" above the ground. Plumb your drainage pipe in to the basin area before installing the basin. Install the basin with your drain lines in, and install the pump. Plumb the discharge pipe so it goes away from the structure. Connect the pump to a three prong grounded receptacle and test unit. Placing plastic sheeting on the ground and sloping it toward the basin will help collect water and keep the area dry. Backfill the hole around the basin with gravel that is larger than the slots in the basin. |
