STALWART EMERGENCY HAND PUMP
Stalwart emergency hand pumps are designed to go into your existing well along side the
submersible pump, without removing the submersible. Then whenever power is interrupted
for any reason, you can pump your needed water with this hand pump system. The stalwart
comes in two models. The deluxe stainless steel model has a stainless discharge head and
stainless pumping cylinder assembly. The economy model is all PVC plastic. Both units use
the same pumping rod and outside piping. They are made of Schedule 80 PVC with special
threads that allow you to screw them together and have no protrusion inside or outside at the
joints. The pipe and rod sections come in 5’ lengths and are sold as a set.
$ 565.00 Stainless Steel Stalwart Pump ONLY No pipe is included.
$ 749.00 SS pump package with 50’ of pipe and rod.
Package includes stainless
steel down hole pumping cylinder, ten 5’ sections ( 50’ ) of pumping rod and outside pipe, a
stainless steel well head discharge assembly and handle, a 1/16” drill bit to drill a weep hole
in the rod below your frost level, 5’ of clear polyethylene discharge tubing with a stainless
steel clamp, proper size double hole well seal, and easy to follow assembly instructions.
$ 480.00 Economy Stalwart All PVC Pump ONLY No pipe is included.
$ 665.00 Economy Stalwart PVC Pump Package with 50’ of pipe and rod.
This package is identical to the package for the stainless steel model Stalwart pump, except
that everything including the discharge head and pumping cylinder are schedule 80 PVC.
$ 24.00
Additional 5’ section sets of both pumping rod and outside pipe.
When ordering your pump and pipe, you will order enough 5’ sections of pipe and rod to
extend your pump unit down to the water level. Then when connected to the pump unit,
which is 10’ overall, you will be approximately 10’ into the water. This is to protect against
water level fluctuations.
Two people should be able to set the Stalwart pump using a pair of chain vise grips. Put one
chain vise grip on the top end of the pumping cylinder, and rest it on the top edge of the well,
screw the next section of rod into the rod in the bottom unit. Next slide the pipe over the rod,
and screw it onto the pumping cylinder. Now attach the second chain vise grip to the top of
the pipe and loosen the lower unit to allow the unit to slide doen to the top of the well. Repeat
this until you get all the rod and pipe sections screwed together. Now unscrew the stainless
steel tee from the top of the pumping rod, and connect the rod to the lower rods. Next slide
the discharge head over the top and screw it into the sections already in the well. Slide the top
section of pipe up through the double hole well seal and place your vise grip there to protect
against dropping, and release the lower grip and lower into the well to the well seal. Put the
tee back on to the top of the rod and tighten the well seal into the casing, leaving the pumping
handle at a comfortable level for pumping. You are now ready to pump water at a moments
notice when power is interrupted.
