Questions & Answers
How easy is it to pump water with the Simple Pump?
A person of average strength
can easily pump a normal depth well. The leverage of the Deluxe unit makes it possible for you to
pump 100' with only 11.5 lbs. per stroke. At 200' you will only apply 23 lbs. per stroke.
How much water can the Simple Pump deliver?
It depends on length and frequency of
strokes, but most people can pump two to three gallons per minute.
How deep can I pump from?
Most people can easily pump down to 300'. The manufacturer
says the maximum would be 500'.
Can I pressurize my house well tank?
Yes. The tolerances maintained while machining
the Simple Pump allow you to develope pressure.
Can I install the Simple Pump myself?
Yes. With very little assistance, a person of
average mechanical ability can install the system. No special tools are necessary. You will want a
pipe gripper to hold the pipe and pump when lowering it into the well, so you do not drop it.
Can I use the Simple Pump in freezing climates?
Yes. You will drill a 1/16" weep hole
in the pipe below the frost level for your area. The water will seek that level after you quit pumping.
Will it be necessary to remove my submersible pump, before installing the
Simple Pump?
No. As long as you have room for a 1" pipe with coupling to pass by the pitless
adapter, you should have no trouble putting a Simple Pump into your well.
What if my casing is only 4" inside?
Do the 1" pipe and coupling test and if it passes the
pitless, you are OK.
How do I determine my static water level?
It should be on your well report, but if it
isn't you can purchase our LED water level indicator. It attaches to a surveyors tape or a rope to lower
down and indicate water level. Your cost of the indicator is $119.00 and after you are finished,
probably you could rent it to your neighbor when he determines his water level.
Be sure to set the pump 20' below the static water level, to protect against water level fluctuation.
